Step 1: Learner's Permit
Minimum Age
15 years old
Holding Period
6 months
Requirements:
- Pass written knowledge test
- Pass vision screening
- Complete driver education course
- Parent/guardian consent
Step 2: Intermediate/Provisional License
Minimum Age
16 years old
Night Curfew
10:00 PM - 5:00 AM (first year)
Passenger Limit
1 non-family passenger under 18 (first 6 months)
Restrictions:
- Must have held permit for 6 months
- No driving between 10 PM and 5 AM for first year
- Only 1 non-family passenger under 18 for first 6 months, then max 3
Step 3: Full Driver License
Minimum Age
17 years old
Requirements:
- Must have held intermediate license for 6 months
- Complete 50 hours of supervised driving (10 at night)
- Pass road skills test
